Partybook, birthday parties made easier for parents

A free platform for parents to plan birthday parties with their child’s classmates. Try Partybook

The Problem

Organising a birthday party for your kid’s class is surprisingly painful. You’re juggling WhatsApp groups, spreadsheets, and mental notes trying to figure out who’s coming, who’s allergic to what, and whether three other kids have birthdays the same week.

Parents end up duplicating effort — each family reinventing the wheel every year. There’s no shared calendar, no central place for RSVPs, and no easy way to combine nearby birthdays into a single celebration that saves everyone time and money.

The Solution

Partybook, birthday parties made easier for parents

Partybook gives each class a shared space to manage birthdays together. Parents join their child’s class with an invite code, see all upcoming birthdays at a glance, and create or join parties with built-in invitations and RSVPs.

The key insight: birthdays cluster. Partybook suggests combining nearby birthdays into joint parties, so parents split the work and costs instead of running separate events every other weekend.

Everything — from class management to invitations to confirmations — lives in one place. No more scattered messages. No more lost RSVPs.

FAQ

What exactly does Partybook do and who is it for?

Partybook is a free platform that helps parents organise birthday parties together with other parents from their children’s class. It lets you manage classes, see a shared birthday calendar, plan parties, send digital invitations, and track RSVPs — all in one place.

Partybook is ideal for:

  • Parents who want a simpler way to organise their child’s birthday party with classmates
  • Class parent reps who coordinate events across the group
  • Any parent tired of chasing RSVPs across WhatsApp, email, and word of mouth

How is Partybook different from a WhatsApp group?

WhatsApp groups are noisy and ephemeral. Important details get buried, RSVPs get lost, and there’s no structure. Partybook offers:

  • A shared birthday calendar so everyone knows what’s coming up
  • Structured RSVPs — no more counting replies in a chat thread
  • Joint party suggestions when birthdays cluster together
  • Invite codes so only class parents can join
  • In-app messaging for party-related conversations without the noise

What is a joint party and why would I want one?

A joint party combines birthdays of children with dates close together into a single celebration. Instead of three separate parties in two weeks, parents organise one bigger event and share the work and costs.

Partybook automatically detects clusters of nearby birthdays and suggests combining them. You’re always free to organise individual parties instead.

Is Partybook really free?

Yes — 100% free for parents. Creating an account, managing classes, organising parties, and sending invitations cost nothing. Always.

Partybook is funded through partnerships with party venues, entertainers, and gift shops. These partners pay a subscription to be recommended on the platform. Parents never pay anything.

Who is behind Partybook?

Partybook was created in Portugal by João Craveiro, a parent who experienced first-hand the challenge of organising class birthday parties. The idea was born from conversations with other parents and the desire to simplify the whole process — from invitations to RSVPs.

Is my data safe? What about my children’s data?

Yes. Partybook uses encryption and security best practices to protect your data. Only members of your child’s class can see their name and date of birth — this data is never publicly visible.

Partybook is GDPR compliant. You can remove your child’s data at any time in Settings, and all associated information will be deleted.
